Dole foreman behind bars for embezzling almost $50,000 worth of farm equipment

A Soledad man is behind bars after months of investigations that led to his arrest.

Monterey County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they arrested Luis Gonzalez, 41, of Soledad for embezzling almost $50,000 worth of farm equipment from Dole Vegetables.

Deputies were contacted by company officials in November because they were suspicious about the Dole company foreman.

Gonzalez was booked into county jail on felony charges.
