School canceled Thursday for San Lorenzo Valley students
UPDATE 2/8/17 5:45 p.m.: School is canceled for all students in the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District on Thursday, February 9, according to the district website. District officials said they’ve been in touch with Santa Cruz County Public Works, local fire departments, the Santa Cruz and Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Offices and Caltrans. Based on information from those agencies and the National Weather Service, the district is deciding to cancel school for the safety of its students and staff. PREVIOUS STORY: All San Lorenzo Unified School District schools will be closed Wednesday. The school district says it had to close classes because of road closures and other unstable road conditions. On Tuesday students were sent home early because of the storm.
