Two pedestrians struck in Seaside, one dead

A pickup truck hit two people as they crossed Broadway Avenue at Hillsdale Street February 4th around 6:30pm, according to the Seaside Police Department.

The accident, under investigation, involved a newer model pickup truck. The victims are described as adults. Both received emergency medical aid, but one was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition, according to police.

Officers are investigating the cause of the collision. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

“Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation, the names of the driver and pedestrians are not being released at this time,” according to the Seaside Police in a press release issued Sunday morning.
