Relay for Life kickoff scheduled in Salinas

Organizers of the Relay For Life cancer fundraiser in Salinas will officially kickoff the 2017 campaign on Saturday at Northridge Mall.

The kickoff party will take place in the mall’s grand court near Starbucks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on January 28, 2017.

Teams can register at that time, learn about the event, and take part in a scavenger hunt and giveaways.

The 2017 event will be held Friday-Saturday, May 19-20 at the Salinas Sports Complex softball fields at 1160 North Main Street.

According to the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life is the organization’s signature fundraiser, held annually in more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries. The event serves to remember ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help fight the disease.
