Corralitos Creek in Watsonville floods

Corralitos Creek in Watsonville reached flood stage after 4pm Sunday, overflowing its banks and flooding nearby neighborhoods.

KION weekend meteorologist Steven Fundaro was there on Dogwood Drive this afternoon. He said some areas closest to the creek are under about six inches of water.

Deputies with the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Department are going around the neighborhood advising people to evacuate, Fundaro said.

Fundaro walked the neighborhood and observed some residents sand bagging and trying to salvage what they could before heading out.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
