UPDATE: County offices to remain closed Friday in San Jose

UPDATE 1/5/17 5:10 PM: Santa Clara County offices in San Jose will remain closed Friday. County officials say the Government Center at 70 West Hedding St., will remain closed to employees and the public on Friday, January 6, until a failing switch gear that caused a power outage at 2:00 a.m. this morning can be repaired.

Normal business services at 70 West Hedding St. are expected to resume on Monday, January 9.

ORIGINAL STORY: A power outage has forced the closure of the County of Santa Clara Government Center Building at 70 West Hedding St., in San Jose.

County officials said the power outage was caused by the failure of three busbars, which conduct electricity in the county’s electrical distribution system.

Normal business services at 70 West Hedding St. are expected to resume on Friday, January 6, 2017.
