Searchers find body of missing 80-year-old man

The search for a missing elderly man in Santa Cruz County ended Thursday with the discovery of the man’s body in a creek near Soquel San Jose and Amaya Ridge Road.

Ray Moore, 80, was reported missing Wednesday morning by his family. He was last seen the previous night in the Soquel area.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office told KION that Moore’s death does not appear to be suspicious and is being investigated as an accident.
