Firefighters urge residents to prepare for weekend storm

Cal Fire is warning residents to prepare for potential flooding in Monterey County during the weekend storm.

Brennan Blue, Cal Fire San Benito Monterey Unit Chief, said the Soberanes fire burn area remains dangerous due to landslide and debris flow potential.

Firefighters are urging residents to have an emergency kit with supplies for at least 72 hours. Residents should also use sandbags to divert water from their homes.

Sandbags are available throughout Monterey County.
