Controled burn escapes control lines

If you saw smoke in southern Monterey County earlier today, CAL FIRE says it came from a brush and grass fire burning west of the City of Soledad.

Crews responded to the wildland fire near Foothill and Ft. Romie Roads around 11:30 a.m. and found that a controlled burn had escaped control lines, according to CAL FIRE.

Some 51 firefighters contained the two acre brush fire within an hour. No structures were damaged.
