Hit-and-run investigation leads to arrest

A hit-and-run investigation in Salinas led to the arrest of Javier Gonzalez, 30.

It all happened last night just before 10 p.m. when police received a call of car accident on Rainier Drive.

During the investigation, several people told the officers that four other cars had also been hit. According to police, Gonzalez had alcohol on his breath and told officers he had one beer.

Three of the four cars struck were severely damaged, and one was forced into the wall of a home on Chaparral Street.

Gonzalez was book into the Monterey County Jail and faces hit-and-run and DUI charges.
