Armed robbers strike three Salinas businesses
Three armed robberies struck locations throughout Salinas Thursday night in less than an hour.
Salinas police said the first happened at about 7:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of Natividad Road at a 7-11. Two men entered the convenience store and one was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
Police said the men took an unknown amount of cash from the register and ran off.
The armed man was described as a Hispanic male adult, weighing about 180 pounds, wearing a black hoodie with a black bandana on his face.
The other man was also described as a Hispanic male adult, wearing a black hoodie and black bandana covering his face. He was unarmed.
The second armed robbery happened at Foster’s Freeze in the 800 block of S. Main St., police said.
During that incident, officers said two white males entered the restaurant and demanded cash from registers at gunpoint. Both suspects took the cash and were seen driving a white sedan westbound on Oak St.
The third armed robbery happened at Jack in the Box on De La Torre just before 8 p.m.
Police said the robber was armed with a semi-automatic handgun and held the manager at gunpoint before taking cash from the register.
The man in this incident was described as a Hispanic in his 20s, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, red bandana and red gloves.
He then fled toward Highway 101.
