Watsonville police arrest man with loaded stolen gun

A Watsonville man is behind bars, accused of several charges.

Watsonville police responded to a room at the Motel 6 on Silver Leaf Drive, just after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. That’s where they arrested 46-year-old Justin Harrah for a previous arrest warrant for burglary and auto theft.

When police found him, he immediately surrendered and told officers he had a gun in his room.

The loaded semi-automatic pistol was found on the night stand, along with more ammunition. A search of the firearm revealed it was reported stolen in 2015.

Harrah is not supposed to have a firearm, due to a court order.

He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of illegal firearm and ammunition possession, possession of stolen property and his Santa Clara County warrant.
