Seaside man sentenced for molesting step-daughter
A Seaside man learned his punishment for sexually molesting his step-daughter.
According to the Monterey County District Attorney, 44-year-old Allen Barrett Jones was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Jones was arrested in 2015 and charged with child molestation. The molestation started when the victim was seven-years-old and continued until she was 15.
In September 2016, Jones pled guilty to six counts of lewd and lascivious acts upon a child under the age of fourteen.
In court, the victim’s father said his daughter is dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the sexual abuse. The judge also described Jones as a serious danger to society for perpetrating separate sexual acts over such a long period of time.
Jones must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
