Gang member wanted for Cannery Row homicide
The Monterey Police Department is looking for a Marina gang member in connection with the murder of a man November 23, 2016 in the Cannery Row parking garage on Wave Street.
Jorge Luis Mendoza, 21, lives in Salinas and is a validated gang member on parole for assault with a deadly weapon. He is considered armed and dangerous.
On November 23, 2016 police responded to reports of shots fired and found Raul Melendez, 28, of Monterey, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Melendez was taken to Natividad Medical Center, where he later died of his wounds.
