Roads closed in Watsonville after fatal accident

The California Highway Patrol says it’s helping Watsonville Police officers investigate a fatal accident on Freedom and Airport Boulevard Monday night.

CHP officers are doing traffic control as police investigate. The area will be closed for the next five hours. Investigators say the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. after a male in his fifties was hit by a car as he walked in the area. The victim died on scene.
