Parolee arrested after firing gun
A parolee is back behind bars after firing a gun in Salinas.
Police say it happened just before 11:00 p.m. Monday night, when Armando Yslas, 36, a parolee, was drunk and went to a home in the 300 block of Chaparral Street.
According to police, Yslas argued with a woman, then went out to the street and fired four rounds from a semi-automatic pistol.
Yslas accidentally hit the magazine release and ejected the magazine before finishing his shooting. No bullet strikes were found in the area. A witness claims he fired those rounds into the air.
When officers arrived on scene, Yslas attempted to hide in a nearby driveway. However, he was arrested and booked into county jail on new charges and a parole hold.
Police were able to find a gun with its serial numbers removed, located behind trash cans where Yslas was hiding. He also had a bag with an additional 40 rounds of ammunition.
