Youth football camp scheduled in Salinas
Two NFL veterans will host a free, one day non-contact football clinic for boys and girls aged 12-17 on Saturday December 10 at Rabobank Stadium in Salinas.
Ron Johnson and Anthony Toney, former professional football players with the Philadelphia Eagles, will host the clinic, a one-day version of the annual Johnson-Toney Football Camp sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County.
“We do not believe in winning at all costs. We create a setting for healthy competition, where athletes can test their skills and have some fun outdoors. We have adopted the NFL Play 60 Character Camp philosophy which emphasizes teaching basic football skills, daily exercise, proper hydration and good nutrition.” Johnson explained.
The camp is sponsored by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monterey County, with support from MYO Frozen Yogurt and Buffalo Wild Wings.
