Monterey Downs project in Seaside terminated
UPDATE 12/2/16 12:32 AM: The Seaside City Council voted unanimously to rescind the approvals of all plans and amendments and decertify the Environmental Impact Report. PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey Downs project won’t be moving forward. The company notified the city of Seaside in a letter Wednesday that it’s pulling out of the project. Monterey Downs, LLC will be required to reimburse some of the costs already incurred by the city. The City Council is expected to revoke all project approvals at tomorrow’s city council meeting. Building in Seaside will continue though, seven former redevelopment agency parcels are expected to be authorized for sale. The next chance for residents to weigh in on the city’s general plan will be at a meeting on Monday, December 5, at the Oldemeyer Center, at 6p.m.
