Hollister plant accident sends woman to hospital
An explosion at an industrial plant in Hollister sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries Thursday.
Hollister Fire Department responded around 9:30 Thursday morning to what it called a “detonation and injury” in the 3600 block of Union Road.
According to the San Jose Fire Department, a woman was flown to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center after she was exposed to toxic materials.
An official said she was decontaminated in Hollister before being flown to the hospital. She was decontaminated a second time prior to treatment. The victim, whose name is not yet released, is listed in serious condition.
