Three men sought for Santa Cruz robbery and shooting
Santa Cruz police are looking for three men in connection with a shooting and robbery.
It happened Monday night around 8:59 p.m. near the east San Lorenzo levee and Broadway Avenue.
Police say they found the victim, a 23-year-old Santa Cruz man, suffering from gunshot wounds to both legs. He was flown to a Bay Area trauma center and is listed in stable condition.
The victim and his brother say they were walking on the levee when three men approached and demanded the victim’s personal belongings. One suspect was armed. During a struggle with the gunman, the victim was shot twice in the legs.
All three suspects were last seen running southbound on the east levee toward Ocean Street.
Suspect descriptions:
Suspect 1 was described as a black male with spiky hair, approximately 20-25 years of age, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and jeans. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
Suspect 2 was also described as a black male, approximately 20-25 years of age, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt and gray pants.
Suspect 3 was described as a white male, approximately 20-25 years of age, 5 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black and red “Santa Cruz” sweatshirt and black pants.
