Central Fire District names interim chief

The Central Fire District, which serves Capitola, Live Oak and Soquel, has appointed Assistant Fire Chief Steven Hall to Interim Fire Chief. Hall has been acting chief since the departure of Fire Chief Jeff Maxwell on October 21 st .

“It’s an honor to be working at Central,” said Hall in a statement. “This is a great organization, and knowing the confidence the board has in my abilities to lead our department is humbling.”

Hall has over 26 years of experience in firefighting. He came to Central Fire in September of 2015 from the City of Patterson Fire Department and West Stanislaus Fire District.

Hall was selected Monday in a unanimous vote of the district’s board of directors.
