Prospective medical marijuana growers sign up
Medical marijuana growers are nearing the deadline to register with Santa Cruz County as a prerequisite before landing a license once a county ordinance managing the industry is officially approved.
County officials say a medical marijuana cultivation ordinance is under review.
Registrants are required to complete forms and pay at $500 fee by Sunday’s deadline. Earlier this week, county officials said 89 prospective cultivators had completed the registration process and another 267 have applications started.
