Greenfield P.D. investigates attempted abductions
After two attempted abductions, Greenfield Police are looking for a male suspect who may be driving a white van.
Police reported Monday that a man grabbed a 17-year-old girl and pulled her toward a white late-1990s model mini-van (similar to the Chrysler photo provided by police) on Friday November 5, 2016. The intended victim screamed and kicked at the subject, who fled northbound on 12 th Street in the van.
The suspect was described as a heavy-set Hispanic man with black hair, black facial hair, approximately 5’2″ to 5’8″ in height. He was wearing a black hoodie-type sweatshirt, grey pants or shorts, and spoke in Spanish and English.
On Monday, Nov. 7, a 12-year-old girl reported an attempted abduction on 9 th Street in Greenfield. The girl told school officials that a heavy set man wearing a grey hoodie-type sweatshirt and brown hat ordered her to get into a white van with gold trim. She described the suspect as “heavy and dirty.”
The Greenfield Police Department is investigating, and said it has notified schools, businesses and residents.
