After leading deputies on a high speed chase through Castroville Thursday, Miguel Farias, 18, crashed his car and was arrested according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they tried to stop Farias at about 5:18 p.m. for driving recklessly. Farias sped away, leading deputies on a high speed pursuit. During the chase, Farias hit a fire hydrant, sideswiped several cars and ended up crashing into a pickup truck on Merritt Street.
