Abandoned car sweep conducted in Salinas

There are 15 fewer abandoned vehicles parked in Salinas, according to the city’s police department.

In a press release received Thursday, the Salinas Police Department Abandoned Vehicle unit reported it had recently conducted a citywide enforcement operation.

The unit towed 15 vehicles as abandoned vehicles, wrote six citations for expired registrations, and wrote 18 parking citations.

Police say future operations will be conducted as time and resources permit.
