Event motivates local drivers to reduce their carbon footprint
National Drive Electric Day kicked off at the Del Monte Shopping Center with some of the most popular electric vehicles on display.
The event was all about inspiring people to drive electric, which organizers said are less expensive, have a more efficient engines and help reduce greenhouse gasses.
“Climate change is a serious issue,” said Kristi Markley with the Montery Bay Electric Vehicle Alliance. “If we don’t reduce the dramatic effects that we’re having on the climate through greenhouse gas emissions, we’re going to have global flooding and a lot of other issues.”
The Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Alliance hosted the event. They said they will have more test drive at various locations in the future.
