UPDATE: Capitola road now reopen after gas leak

Update 9/15/2016 10:33 AM: Capitola Police officials announced that the shutdown portion of Wharf Road has been reopened.

Previous story: The Capitola Police Department closed part of Wharf Road Thursday morning because of a gas line rupture.

Officers report a construction crew hit a gas line.

Wharf Rd. is closed between Soquel Wharf and Clares Street. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
