Weather closely monitored on Soberanes Fire

Firefighters from all over California gathered to hear the days plan as they head out to fight the Soberanes fire for the sixth day in a row. One priority is to keep the fire West of Carmel Valley, another priority is to stop the fire from moving South further down into Big Sur. Cal Fire Officials say they’re doing a good job picking up where the last shift left off. The Weather Service is closely monitoring the area.

“It’s another hot dry day. Watch the heat exhaustion as it creeps up on you. At night time recovery there is no night time recovery. As the fog comes in it’s still dry up there,” said Ryan Walburn.

Cal Fire warned firefighters to not rely on air support as the weather is making it difficult to fly.
