UPDATE: Deputies arrest Salinas suspect after standoff lasting several hours

UPDATE 7/20/16 12:10 PM: The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said suspect Luis Morales Alvarado was arrested Wednesday morning at a home on Tampa Street in Salinas, after a standoff with law enforcement lasting several hours.

UPDATE 7/20/16 11:22 AM: Deputies said they are still trying to arrest a suspect Wednesday morning on Tampa Street in Salinas.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said its serving a search warrant for Luis Morales Alvarado, a parole at-large, who is wanted for domestic violence.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey County SWAT Team is trying to arrest a suspect wanted for drugs and guns in the 100 block of Tampa Street in Salinas Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

A sergeant at the scene said the suspect is inside a home and is refusing to come out. A portion of Paloma Street is blocked off while law enforcement try to make the arrest.
