Vegetation fire fully contained in Gilroy
UPDATE 6/20/16 10:13 P.M.: Gilroy firefighters say a grass fire burning near Monterey Road is now fully contained.
According to Division Chief Colin Martin with the Gilroy Fire Department, the fire started at 8:04 p.m. Monday and crews had it under control about 40 minutes later.
It was a wind driven fire and burned about 600 feet of grass along the railroad tracks in the area.
No homes or buildings were damaged and no one was hurt.

A vegetation fire burning in Gilroy Monday night is threatening structures, according to the fire department.
The fire is burning near 6400 Monterey Road. The fire department is reporting several structures in the area are being threatened.
Multiple units are on scene including Cal Fire officials.
