Two dead after early morning crash on Highway 183

UPDATE 6/17/16 12:48 PM: Two people were killed after a crash on Highway 183 early Friday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

Officers said Fabian Sanchez III, 30 of Salinas, was driving a Hummer southbound on Highway 183, south of Cooper Rd. and crossed over into the northbound lane.

That’s when officers said the Hummer side swiped a Mercury Saber – no one in that car was hurt. Sanchez continued northbound and crashed head on into a Nissan Altima, driven by Amada Hernandez, 49 of Salinas, CHP said.
