Road work could bring traffic headaches in coming week

The Transportation Agency of Monterey County (TAMC) wants to warn drivers about some upcoming road and lane closures during the week of June 19-25.

Construction crews will be doing bridge work on Highway 101 at John Street/Highway 28 from on June 21 and 22. Crews plan to close the northbound right line and the northbound off-ramp between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Between June 20-24, crews in Salinas will be grinding and paving along Highway 183/Main Street/Market Street between Highway 101 and Old Cemetery Road. Drivers should be aware of alternating lane closures and ramp closure at the Highway 101 on and off ramps between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TAMC also reported that there will be grinding and paving along Highway 218/Canyon Del Rey between Highway 1 and Highway 68. The agency said there will be alternating lane closures and the Highway 1 on and off ramps will be closed.

Construction work is weather-dependent.
