Golden State Warriors heading to NBA Finals
The Golden State Warriors are heading to the finals for the second year in a row.
On Monday, the 2015 NBA Champions beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in game seven of the Western Conference Finals.
Fans packed Peter B’s Brewpub in downtown Monterey to watch the game.
“It’s been a roller coaster. They’ve been amazing this season,” said one fan at the restaurant.
It’s been a historic year for the Warriors. They won 73 games, breaking the NBA record for most wins during the regular season.
“We’ve been following them all season. All games are different,” said another fan watching the game. “They are just a lot of fun.”
Downtown Monterey bars and restaurants have been benefiting from the Warriors’ success all year.
“Once game time happens, we are pretty full,” said Sean Wall the manager at Peter B’s Brewpub.
Wall said he has to bring in extra staff for every game.
“We like how the NBA Finals extends over a couple of weeks because it helps us businesses stay busy,” said Wall.
And it’s going to stay busy as the Warriors head to the NBA Finals to face the Cleveland Cavaliers again.
