Suspects jump out of moving car during Watsonville Police chase

Two people are behind bars after a car chase led to a crash in Watsonville.

Police say it all started Tuesday night around 10:15 p.m. in the area of Bridge Street and Hushbeck Avenue, when an officer noticed a stolen Honda Accord. The officer attempted to do a traffic stop, but a chase ensued.

During the chase, the driver and passenger both jumped out of the moving car in an attempt to run away, causing the car to crash into a utility pole.

Both suspects ran in opposite directions, but officers quickly caught and arrested them. Jaime Torres and Angel Zamora are both in Santa Cruz County Jail.
