Mother fights off armed robbers in Salinas
Salinas Police are investigating two armed robberies, both just over an hour apart from each other.
The first happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 13000 block of Jackson St., when an 83-year-old woman told police she was confronted by a man in her garage. The suspect smashed a car window and put a gun to her head demanding her purse.
Then just after 11:30 p.m. on the 2000 Block of Sucre Ct., police say a mother and her 6-year-old son were in bed when a male and female entered the living room.
The mother went downstairs to investigate and the female suspect attacked the victim. The two fell to the floor fighting.
After a brief struggle, the suspects fled out of the residence in an unknown direction. Cash and electronics were taken from that residence.
