Upgraded skate park re-opens in Monterey
Central Coast skateboard enthusiast now have an improved and expanded place to jump, slide and perform other tricks.
After being closed for repairs, the Monterey Skate park has reopened.
It’s located along Lake El Estero.
Skateboarders and in-line skaters can enjoy a pyramid, ramp and bowl among other things.
It was built with funds from the city’s neighborhood improvement program.
More than 40 local skaters and youth helped to design it.
“When I was younger I used to come to this skate park and it was really fun as well,” said skateboarder Erick Arango. “But the changes you know made it something different to Monterey.”
The park is open daily from 9 a.m. until dusk.
