Salinas man visits wife every day for two years

Joe Pea is like clockwork.

“I come here at about 6:30 AM until 6:30 PM at night,” said Pea.

He’s done that every day for the past two years, as he visits his wife Margarita in a care facility.

“I was working when she got sick so I retire,” said Pea.

Proving that their inseparable bond is still as unbreakable as when they met in the 1950’s.

When Margarita goes down for her daily nap, Joe doesn’t go too far. He just goes out to his truck to take a little snooze himself.

“I come here and sleep an hour and a half, listen to the radio. Then I go back up there for her,” said Pea.

They listen to birds, laugh, and reminisce. Because life is too short not to be with the ones you love.

“Laughing and talking and everything. Just get along together. And don’t get mad, that’s what I always do,” said Pea.

Great advice.
