Father, son rescued during dangerous swell
The Central Coast Fire Protection District said a father and son were rescued after a swell carried them too close to the rocks at Capitola Beach.
The pair were out surfing when a large swell dragged them down. They lost one of their boards and got pushed too close to the rocks.
Two rescue swimmers, one from the Central Coast Fire Protection District and one from State Parks, helped the two make it safely to shore.
