Aptos Residents angry pictures were removed from Seacliff memorial wall

Aptos residents are upset over the removal of pictures and messages from the Seacliff memorial wall.

Over the years, people have turned the wall into a wall of remembrance for loved ones. However, the wall is located on private property and residents say the homeowner living behind the wall doesn’t want anyone putting anything on it.

Earlier this week, some pictures and messages were taken down.

“I had a plaque of my dad, my buddie’s mom and another friend’s father. I Ran into a lady she was 60 years old and her daughter was up there. I don’t like it. Of course, it’s stupid and how long it has been here, 10 years or 12 years maybe,” said Aptos resident Steve Macile.

A public notice sign has been put up warning people not to deface the wall in any way, but people walking the trail said it is tradition that they touch the wall during their runs at the beach.
