UPDATE: Man found dead on Salinas Grade Road identified
UPDATE 2/5/2016 3:45 PM: The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man a deputy found dead over an embankment on Salinas Grade Road.
The man has been identified as Olvin Humberto Aleman, 23. Deputies said he’s Honduran and had a physical address in Mendota, CA.
Deputies said Aleman was the victim of a very violent assault and that he was killed at the scene on Salinas Grade Road. A deputy found his body when he saw a blue metal bat in the roadway. The deputy went to move the bat, saw blood, and then found the body.

UPDATE 2/3/2016 10:45 AM: The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office said the man found dead in San Juan Bautista in January, appears to have been killed in the county.
On Jan. 27 deputies found the victim’s body dumped over an embankment in the 3200 block of Salinas Grade Road.
According to detectives the 23-year-old Hispanic man was violently attacked and sustained major laceration and puncture wounds. He was not from the area.
Detectives have not been able to contact the victim’s family.

The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a body was found in the 3200 block of Salinas Grade Rd. in San Juan Bautista.
Deputy said said a man was found, dumped over the embankment. Investigators don’t know how long his body has been there.
The U.S. Department of Justice is headed to the scene to gather evidence.
