The route for the 2016 Amgen Tour of California has been released.

According to Amgen, it is one of the longest and most challenging routes in the history of the race.

The course will take the world’s top professional cyclists across 800 miles of California’s most beautiful terrain.

They will compete for the overall title from May 15-22.

For only the second time in Amgen Tour of California history, the race will also progress south to north. It will start in San Diego and a new champion will be crowned in the state capital of Sacramento.

During Stage 4 of the race, cyclists will cross over Big Sur’s Bixby Bridge and through Carmel-By-The-Sea to Monterey County.
