Police identify victim of fatal DUI crash

Police have identified the person who died in a DUI crash out of Salinas.

Armando Vega Vasquez of Salinas died on January 21st. It all started when police say the 44-year-old male was driving recklessly on North Sanborn Road and struck another vehicle, which suffered moderate injuries.

Vasquez then left the scene of the collision westbound on the Laurel Extension at a very high rate of speed, losing control of the vehicle. He drove off of the road and struck a retaining wall at Natividad Medical Center, where he died from injuries.
