“It’s been amazing, I mean come on, you don’t always get to film in places like this,” said Pacific Standard Executive Producer Bruna Papandrea.

“Part of my job as a location manager is I get the script I break it down, and I look for the locations. That’s sort of a small part. Once we find it, it’s really about putting everything together,” said Location Manager Gregory Alpert.

And that’s what they’re doing all around the Monterey Coast.

“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to drive up and down the grove and to see something as beautiful as this that would lend itself nicely to our shows,” said Gregory.

Those shows will be based of the book Big Little Lies.

“This book was originally set in Sydney, so we specifically chose Monterey because it’s very rare to find a place that has that inspirational beach side quality. You feel wherever you look there’s ocean around you,” said Papandrea.

Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are just two big names in the all-star cast. 37 extras from around the area are also enjoying the experience.

“We had a very early call. We were parked on Oceanview down near Asilomar and it was still dark when the crew got dropped off, and as the sun came up some of the crew that didn’t know we were on the water looked around and said ‘this is not a bad parking lot.’ It’s a nice way to wake up and see the beauty all around us,” said Gregory.
