Update: Body found at beach identified as UCSC Student

Family of UC Santa Cruz student Shireen Agha Ahsan say Sheriff’s deputies have recovered the 19-year-old’s body at Strawberry Beach. Deputies confirm that they recovered her body after a cyclist came across the remains Monday. They’re expected to release more information Tuesday afternoon.
Ahsan and 25-year-old Ahmad Solaiman Nourzaie were swept away near Bonny Doon Beach last week.

An investigation is underway after human remains were found on a beach at Wilder Ranch State Park on Monday, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office.
Deputies said at 5:30 p.m., a cyclist came upon the remains on Strawberry Beach.
At this time, authorities don’t know the gender or identity of the body found.
The discovery is just miles from Bonny Doon Beach, where two UCSC students were reported missing just last week.
