UPDATE: Water main leak closes Santa Cruz Wharf, repairs expected later in the week

UPDATE 1/25/16 1:38 PM: The Santa Cruz Wharf is shut down Monday afternoon following a water main leak reported by police Sunday morning.

A four inch fire hose is hooked up for temporary water supply for businesses and restaurants on the wharf. Crews said water won’t be accessible from the water main until it can be tested later Monday or Tuesday.

NewsChannel 5’s Brandon Castillo will have more on this story, as permanent repairs are expected by the end of the week.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police have reported a water main leak on the Santa Cruz Wharf, Sunday morning.

The Santa Cruz fire and water departments along with the wharf’s maintenance team is working together to solve the issue.

Police said the Wharf will be closed until Monday evening or until the situation is under control.
