Former Salinas mayor announces run for Monterey County Board of Supervisors

A new candidate with some local history made a major political announcement today. Former Salinas Mayor Dennis Donohue became the newest candidate for District Four Supervisor on the Monterey County Board.

He had a lot of support; four mayors from District Four appeared by his side. Donohue has been considering running for about a year.

“I saw a need and I really felt after talking to some folks I could really make the type of contribution as a supervisor that I think people around the district and around the county are looking for in providing the political leadership to move an agenda,” said Donohue.

Donohue will run against incumbent Jane Parker, who will be seeking her third term in office.
