Monterey County Sheriffs find man behind multiple robberies

Monterey County Sheriffs say they arrested the suspect behind multiple robberies Friday morning.

It happened just after midnight, when deputies learned Robert Kimura-Cuellar’s whereabouts and tried to serve an arrest warrant.

After a Sheriff’s K-9 found him hiding in a residence, Kimura-Cuellar was taken into custody without further incident.

Deputies say Robert Kimura-Cuellar was wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Santa Cruz County, in addition to an armed robbery and vehicle theft in another county.

They also say Kimura-Cuellar’s relatives tried to help him avoid arrest by providing false information to deputies.
