King City police looking for shooting suspect

The King City Police Department is investigating its first shooting of the year.

According to police, a man was shot at multiple times from a car at the intersection of South San Lorenzo and Bassett Streets around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police tell NewsChannel 5 that four to six shots were fired.

The 37-year-old victim was hit in the upper torso and taken to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas.

Police said he was in stable condition and was transferred to another local hospital for advanced treatment.

Police can’t confirm whether or not the shooting is gang-related.
