Update on California’s 30th State Assembly district race

Anna Caballero, who is running for the 30th State Assembly seat, will gain support from a candidate who is dropping out of the race Thursday afternoon.

The candidate dropping out is Gilroy Councilman Peter Munoz. That leaves Caballero and Watsonville Councilwoman Karina Cervantez in the running.

The 30th State Assembly seat is currently held by Luis Alejo, who is coming to the end of his term. Alejo is running for a seat on the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.

The press conference is at 2 p.m. at Salinas City Hall and NewChannel 5 will be there. Stay tuned for details.
