Officials close Seacliff State Beach due to large waves
Seacliff State Beach, a popular tourist destination, has been quiet. Officials closed the beach due to the large waves from this week’s storm.
It wasn’t the only closure officials made Wednesday. Caltrans crews had plenty of work on Highway 9 clearing up a large tree that fell and blocked traffic. Crews also stayed busy trying to keep water from pooling up around the city.
“Drains are one of our concerns. We unplug them and if they do plug up, they create lakes on the roads so people hydroplane,” Caltrans’ Manuel Platero said.
According to Caltrans, Highway 17 and Highway 9 are at risk for rock and mudslides during wet weather, so being vigilant is extra important.
